Happy New Year!

And in an effort to get back to more regular posts this year:

Honeysuckle, Pantone’s color of 2011. According to Pantone, this reddish pink color is “encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life.”

Get ready to see a lot of pink.  I will miss you, Turquoise.

I saw this book by Steven Pinker on the interwebs and immediately thought, “I want to read that book!” as it combines two of my favorite things in one awesome book cover: handlettering and matryoshka nesting dolls (as evidenced here)!  So yes, I sometimes judge a book by it’s cover. It also helps that the content seems very interesting.

Guess these bands! 48 band names have been illustrated into icons by (I am guessing) Cinismo Ilustrado. Have fun and don’t look at the answer key til the end!

Cuteness is this All Typed Up Clyde bag from Kate Spade.

Wow.  WeWOOD is a an “eco-luxury” brand from Italy (now in LA) that makes these amazing timepieces crafted from reclaimed wood and without the use of toxic chemicals or materials. If you buy a watch (at $119 each), they will plant a tree.  This is definitely going on my list as I don’t think I’ll ever tire of the wood grain trend.
